So, first thing, our office will be closed Thursday and Friday, open again on Monday.

If you have any members exhibiting at the Walter Gerlach Show, we need their names to send them eligibility forms. Please send us a list ASAP.

If you have any members that missed our first deadline for major shows, our second deadline is Monday, Nov. 27, 5 p.m. with a $25 late fee.

We just received information from NAMIWalks for the Mind of America. This is a nationwide fundraising program for mental health awareness. The San Antonio walk is scheduled for April 14, but plans are going on now. Call 734-3349 or visit the website at namisat@aol.com for more information.

Now chocolate is over, its time to be planning on what to budget with our profit that was made. Mark your calendar to attend the Finance Task Force Planning Meeting on Monday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m. here at our office S-208.

Please encourage your graduating seniors to attend the Scholarship Training on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m., here at our office, S-208. 4-H offers over 200 scholarship with 4-H Foundation due in February.

Bexar County Junior Livestock Show eligibility forms will be mailed on Monday.

Last swine validation date is Monday, Nov. 27 3:30-6 p.m. this is the last date.

Helotes Clover Classic Pig Show is this Saturday, Nov. 25 at the Walter Gerlach Show grounds. See the flyer enclosed in your November newsletter for complete details.

We have received very few Council Delegate reservations for the Council Party at Laser Quest on Dec. 7.

We just received information on the Texas Teen Retreat camp. It is scheduled for Jan. 5-7. Deadline to sign up is Dec. 12. This camp is for members 13-19 with a cost of $100 which pays for lodging, meals and snacks. This camp includes exploring creativity, communication skills, working with audiences of all ages and lots more.

For a couple of years now, some clubs have been participating in the Season to Save toilet fundraiser. Its really easy. All you do is hand out a card of information to homeowners who meet the qualifications and they in return send the card into SAWS with their name/address info. If they install the toilet you/your club gets $25 per toilet. One of our clubs made about $1,500 one year. It is not to late to get involved, but hurry, deadline for homeowners to send in their cards is Dec. 22. Call SAWS at 704-7283 and ask about the Season to Save program.

County 4-H Council voted to have the Salvation Army stockings for this years community service. Empty stockings are available in our office. Filled stockings are due to our office by December 11.

There are so many things to do at the San Antonio Stock Show in February. Many members exhibit animals, but many also enter activities on Youth Day, Feb. 3. Club Managers have the Youth Day, Photography Contest, Fashion Show and Wagon Parade information. In the newsletter is a write up about each one of these events.

There is a new activity that happens on Feb. 3. The Youth Country Fair Day -Baking Contest. Call the office for details

Club delegates and Council officers will meet in January to decide on the new budget. Before they vote, you will have an opportunity to meet and help decide the proposed budget. You are invited to attend and offer any suggestions/ideas/concerns on Monday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m., here at our office in S-208.

Opportunity scholarship form is due Feb. 7 to our office. To help you fill out your scholarship, there will be a training on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m. here at our office S-208.

Anyone interested in horses, please make plans to attend the Horse Leaders Meeting on Monday, Nov. 27, 7 p.m. here at our office S-208. Bring your ideas/suggestions to plan this next year.
