Blazing Trails at Braunig is coming up next Saturday, April 21. If any you are planning on attending and have not RSVP, please do so. We are providing refreshments and want to make sure we have enough for everyone. I wouldn't want to share my peanut butter and jelly sandwich with anyone.......no, just kidding, there not having peanut butter and jelly. Also, if any members will be attending, please wear closed toe shoes. You will be helping with the nature trail or be out on the trails with the workshops.

Thank you to everyone that donated childrens book. We are still accepting books, if you have any.

Lots of summer camps are listed in the newsletter. Watch due dates. The camps fill up fast.

If you have never done a project form or recordbook, I encourage you to attend the Recordbook Training on Tuesday, April 24 here at our office S-208, 7 p.m. Everything you ever wanted to know about project forms or recordbooks will be available and discussed.

We still have San Antonio Stock Show floor checks here to be picked up.

There are still pictures from the County contest here to be picked up:
Katilyn Aldrich, Kenneth Aldrich, Tony Galvan, Taylor Jaure, Stephen Navarro, Hakan Telsiz. If they are not picked up by April 25, we will assume the members do not want the pictures or their ribbons.

The Texas Brigades camps are a lot of fun, there have been many 4-H members that attended in the past and raved about all the things they learned and got to do. Find out more in the Outdoor Fun section of the newsletter. These camps fill up fast, check it out now.

4-H has had a booth for the last couple of years at the "Children's Day in the Garden". If you need some community service for your recordbook, this is a fun activity to help out at. See more details in the Community Service Opportunity section of the newsletter and contact Mike ASAP.

County Council Officer elections will take place at the Council/Adult Leaders meeting on Thursday, April 12. How do the candidates get voted into office????? Your Club Delegate officers attend the meeting and vote for the best person for the position. Your club gets two votes. If you have only one Club Delegate, then the other vote defaults to the Club President. If neither of these two club positions can attend the meeting on April 12, then a substitute member can be allowed to vote for your club with a letter from the Club Delegate stating they are the substitute (give the letter to Shane that night). If you have any questions, please contact Shane. PLEASE REMIND YOUR MEMBERS THE MEETING STARTS AT 6:30 P.M.. Voting cannot start until there are at least 10 members from 9 of the organized 4-H Clubs. PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR OFFICERS AND MEMBERS TO ATTEND.

If you are interested in learning about recordbooks, the first workshop is April 16, Hays County Extension office. The next training is April 24, here in our office. Check the newsletter for more details.

If you would like to help plan upcoming horse activities, mark your calendar for the next leaders meeting on April 16, here in our office.

If you will be exhibiting steers this upcoming show season, remember, steer validation tags are due to our office by April 16. Order form is in the April newsletter.

Photos from the County Photography Contest are ready for pick up from our office. Please try and pick up your photos up by April 13.

This was the first year our county had the Textile Contest, March 24. The next level is the District Textile Contest on April 28 in San Marcos. This year, members did not have to attend the County Textile Contest to move on to the District contest. If you have any members that would like to enter the District Textile Contest, please have them contact Annette for entry information. Deadline to enter is before April 17. Members do not have to attend the contest to enter. Someone else can take their entry to San Marcos.

#1 item this week is to remember if you are a Club Officer Delegates, the Council Meeting on Thursday, April 12 is at the ENP office at 6:30 p.m. You will be voting in new Council Officers and discussing upcoming activities.

H.S. Estelle Camp applications are now available from our office.

There are a lot of other camps listed in the newsletter, they fill up fast. Watch deadlines they are coming up quick.

County Photos are now ready to be picked up.

If you are entering the Photo Contest on April 28 in San Marcos, deadline to enter photos is April 13, via the 4-H Connect program.

Newsletter was mailed this past Wednesday. An article on State Fair Lamb/Goat validation tags was included. The tag fee is $8, not $7.

If you are competing at the District Fashion Show, the entry deadline has changed from April 17 to April 13.

Several scholarships listed in the newsletter are due very soon.

Next Horse Playday is April 7, mark your calendar.

If you are exhibiting a steer this upcoming year, it is time to order Steer Validation tags. A form is in the April newsletter, deadline is April 16.
