January 29, 2007

I know everyone is busy gearing up for the stock show, either by grooming their animal or getting their crafts together for Youth Day or attending a School Tour training to tour.
Next and last School Tour training is Jan. 30, here at our office, 7 p.m.

If you are participating in the San Antonio Stock Show or the Houston Stock Show or School Tours or Youth Day----ALL PASSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP.

If you are applying for the Foundation Scholarship or the School Tours Scholarship, they are due to our office by Feb. 7th.

If you need to keep a copy of a form you are turning in to the office, please make copies you come to our office. We have had several members come in and ask for us to make them a copy for their file. Our office is allotted so many copies a month, when we run out, we are out till the next month.

San Antonio School Tours is still in need of tour guides for the 2nd week. Mon, Feb 12-Thurs. Feb. 15. Call me if you have members that can tour on any of those days.

If you have any questions on the above articles, please give us a call.

My and Annette's office has been moved to the front area of our office. Right now we can't find a thing, so please be patient with us if you call today or the rest of the week.

School tour letter was sent to members who signed up to tour this week. New tour guides that have never toured through 4-H must attend one of the orientation meetings (Jan. 22 or Jan. 30). I did not hear from several members that signed up to tour on a date we did not receive. I still have openings on Feb. 5, 7 & 13 for them to sign up.

These members were from clubs: East Central, Southside, Harmony, Helotes Plus, Helotes Clovers.

Are your seniors taking advantage of scholarships we list in our newsletter? This is money given to graduating seniors who qualify. We were getting concerned, we have not had any calls with any questions.

If your club delegates cannot attend the Council Meeting on Jan. 18 to vote on the budget, you can send another representative, but there must be a letter from you stating that this other member will represent your club. Have this member bring the letter with them to the meeting.
Reminder, if your members need a copy of their eligibility form, please ask your them to make a copy before they return the form to our office. Our office has a limited number of copies we can make on our copiers per month and then we are out until the next month. Many have come in needing a copy and asked to pay for the copy. We are a county office and cannot charge for the copy. Please make this announcement at your next meeting.

If you need any information on the above articles, please email or give us a call.

Eligibility forms............oh boy, have we had a lot of calls on this subject. We have had articles for months in the newsletter about eligibility forms. Please remind your graduating seniors of all the scholarships available for them. Many are coming due in January and February. Encourage them to start working on them to meet the deadlines.

If your club is setting up a table at Youth Day and will be doing a hands on activity and need some pieces of material or ribbon, we have a lot here at our office available FREE. Call and let us know when you can stop by to check it out.

To those members who applied to calf scramble at the San Antonio Stock Show, we still have not received confirmation. When we hear, we will send out a letter to those who applied letting them know, yes or no if they were selected.
